President: Sandra K. Morris Sandra Morris is a co-Founder and CEO of CafeGive, an innovative new web company that enables people to earn for non-profit organizations while shopping on-line. Morris is a technology management veteran with over twenty years of product development, marketing and general management experience. During an eighteen year career at Intel, she was involved in the development of various multimedia products, ran intel.com and spearheaded the billion dollar B2B effort at Intel. Morris shared the CIO role at Intel for four years. Prior to founding CafeGive, she spent over 2 years as GM and CEO of Kodak Gallery driving this consumer e-commerce business. Outside of work Sandra's passion is her family and children's causes, and going on long walks with her retriever mix puppy.
Vice President: Kelly Aicher Kelly Aicher is a senior manager with The Bike Gallery and has been at the helm of the Lake Oswego Location since its opening in 1997. Kelly is a graduate of Whitman College, a former Firefighter and EMT and a has spent 25 years in the bicycle business including a position with Trek Bicycle that allowed him to visit 46 states during his career. He is an adult survivor of a Congenital Heart Defect, Tetralogy Of Fallot, for which he had corrective surgery in Portland in 1972. Kelly is a very active member and has served on the board of the Downtown Lake Oswego Rotary Club where he has been honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. In his free time, Kelly is an avid Oenophile, Audiophile and enjoys cycling, skiing, music and traveling with his wife Nicky and their 2 Beagles. He fulfilled a goal of running the Big Sur Marathon in 2007. Kelly's passion for wine, cycling and the Children's Heart foundation has led to the Wine Ride series that partners with some of the best wineries in Oregon in order to raise funds for CHF.
Treasurer and Co-Founder: Vincent P. Price Vince Price is CFO of The Regence Group. Prior to this he was co-Owner of Price & Price Consulting where his focus was on financial management for startup and existing businesses. Prior to forming his own company he was the Group Controller at Intel Corporation where he worked for 15 years. Vince also worked with a Central Oregon non-profit agency, Saving Grace, which provides comprehensive family violence and sexual assault services and promotes the value of living life free from violence.
Secretary: Adam Mertz Adam Mertz has spent the last 12 years in various product and marketing roles in the high tech sector and is currently the Marketing Director for Corrigo, a software company in Portland. His past volunteer efforts include working with CHF – Oregon since its first event, several years as a youth minister, and supporting the life and educational needs of children in developing countries through the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging. Adam is a proud father of two and although neither have a heart condition, he has been touched by the spirit and opportunity the CHF represents to improve so many young lives.
Board Member: Sandra S. Brown Sandra Brown is currently the Operations Controller for the Global Accounting/Financial Services organization at Intel Corporation. Prior to this role at Intel, she was an internal consultant / certified professional facilitator; working with global, diverse teams helping them achieve their business results. Sandra holds a BBA with a major in Accounting and is a licensed CPA. Outside of work, Sandra enjoys yoga and trail running, and feels very blessed to be the co-parent of two healthy and active college students.
Board Member: Patricia Cobb Patricia Cobb is the Exceptional Needs Care Coordinator for Kaiser Permanente Northwest, as well as a part owner of Metric Marketing Group. Patricia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health Education, with a focus on research and public policy. Patricia spent most of her early career at the Kaiser Center for Health Research. She had three babies in two years and took a 12 year hiatus from the workforce. Patricia's volunteer focus has always been children with special needs, beginning in high school with the Montana Special Olympics. She, even at a young age, recognized the social and moral responsibility of a civilized society to care for children, every single one of them. Cobb is married with three lovely teenage daughters.
Board Member: Matt Edler After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Matt began his career as a Cardiovascular and Electro physiology Technologist. Much of his experience has centered around caring for patients with congenital heart disease, and his involvement with the Oregon Chapter drew in large part from a desire to bring information to the community about the exciting developments in treating CHD. A particular interest of Matt's in his workplace at Legacy Emanuel Hospital has been on improving Cath Lab procedural outcomes by working with his peers to elevate their standards for education, training, and competency assessment. When not at work, Matt enjoys sharing his love for climbing and biking with his wife and 2 children.
Board Member and Past President: Heather Helmy Heather Helmy is a Registered Dietitian who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition. In addition to her work with the Children's Heart Foundation, Heather has worked as a clinical Dietitian and remains actively involved in the areas of wellness and nutrition education. As a parent of a child born with complex congenital heart disease, Heather is all too aware of the need to fund the most promising research and create awareness about CHD, and she hopes that all children born with congenital heart defects will have a bright and joyful future.
Board Member, Past President and Co-Founder: Aimee R. Mooney Aimee Mooney holds a Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology. She has practiced over 16 years in the field of Neurological Rehabilitation, specializing in the recovery from Traumatic Brain Injury. In addition to clinical work, she has participated in research involving the impact of Patient Advocacy on long-term outcomes.
Her experience in the medical field paired with work in patient advocacy have been extremely helpful in helping her to cope with the challenges of Finn’s complex condition. Aimee also co-formed a local support network called “Northwest Families with Heart”. The mission of this group is to provide families with written, on-line and one-on-one support as they navigate the very complicated journey of life with a congenital heart defect.
Board Member and Co-Founder: Joseph P. Mooney Joe Mooney is owner of Mooney Construction, a general contractor for new construction and remodels in Portland, Oregon. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is an active and passionate father of his two children, Brogan and Finn. When not designing and building sets for LionHeart or PULSE, Joe can be found coaching T-ball.
Board Member: Connie Ozyjowski After spending nearly 15 years in Administration with a major Financial Services Company in Chicago, San Francisco, and New York, Connie chose to stay at home and raise her two sons. She has been very involved in her children's schools where she has served as Treasurer and President on the Board of Hancock Street Preschool and is currently the Chair of the School Advisory Board at All Saints School. She has been very active in All Saints School with their annual auction for the past 7 years, having chaired the auction for 2 years. Connie and her husband Ray live in Portland and spend their weekend time going from sporting event to sporting event with their two sons, John and Hank.
Board Member and Co-Founder: Laurie L. Price Laurie Price is COO and Co-Founder of CafeGive, a unique website where participating nonprofits earn dollars from purchases of designated products. CafeGive brings together her prior work as a consultant focused on business planning and operations for nonprofit and for profit companies and years of work at Intel Corporation where she was the Director of e-Business Operations. Her volunteer focus is on improving the lives of children that enter this life with disadvantages, either physical or environmental. In addition to serving on the board of The Children's Heart Foundation-Oregon Chapter, she served two terms as board chairperson for MountainStar Family Relief Nursery. When not working, you can find Laurie playing four year old games with daughter, jogging, practicing yoga and reading yet another self-help book!
Board Member: Jane Raymond Jane Raymond is the owner and designer for Style Sister Studio Handbags. Her bachelor of science degree in design has given her a wide range of art media exposure. Jane’s design experience has helped create the theme and feel of our events and she is one of the founding mother's of Lionheart in Laurelhurst. One of Jane’s passions is creating ways young children can participate in our community events. You can find Jane, her four children, and any number of Junior Board Members, on her front porch creating new, wonderful items for the Children's Heart Foundation.
Aimee R. Mooney & Joseph P. Mooney Aimee and Joe Mooney are the parents of Finnigan Mooney. Finn was born with a severe congenital heart defect, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Through this experience they became aware of the prevalence of congenital heart defects (CHD) and the challenges associated with treatment. They also became aware of the considerable gap that exists between the occurrence of the condition and the financial support dedicated towards research of the condition. Therefore, they saw a significant need for development of a foundation whose primary mission is to fund research for congenital heart defects.
